Director of Operations

As Director of Finance, Milwaukee-based Joel keeps the gears turning behind the scenes, overseeing human resources, procurement, accounts payable, receiving, and IT. Basically, if it involves details, processes, or numbers, Joel has it covered.

With a background in recording engineering and audio-visual sales, Joel first joined Avenue Systems handling purchasing and bookkeeping. Over time, his role expanded, evolving into the well-rounded financial and operational leadership position he holds today. He brings a sharp operational mind, a dry wit, and an uncanny ability to keep things running smoothly—even when the spreadsheets try to rebel.

When asked what he enjoys most about his work, Joel doesn’t hesitate: it’s the people. He values the camaraderie, collaboration, and the satisfaction that comes from supporting a great team. True to form, he describes himself as a “useful partner” behind the scenes, ensuring others have what they need to succeed.

Outside of work, Joel’s world revolves around music, golf, and great food. He loves playing guitar, catching live bands, and sharing dinners with his daughter, who also lives in town. Known for his dark sense of humor and fluent sarcasm, Joel keeps things light while staying laser-focused on the details that matter.
