Transforming Vision Into Reality

When the leadership team at City Church first began dreaming about their future facility, they were navigating unfamiliar territory. As a relatively young and rapidly growing church, they had never partnered with a professional audiovisual integrator. Their technology history consisted primarily of self-installed systems, used equipment, and portable gear inherited from previous ministry environments. Their original home, an old skating rink, had faithfully served them, but it was clear that the next season of growth would require something more.

What began as a phased renovation plan quickly evolved alongside the church's expanding congregation. Initial concepts included constructing a new sanctuary, converting the existing worship space into a student auditorium, and eventually creating a dedicated children's wing. However, continued growth prompted multiple revisions, including a significant expansion of the new auditorium itself. After nearly two years of planning, City Church ultimately made the strategic decision to relocate temporarily to a local high school, allowing the existing facility to undergo a complete renovation rather than a phased construction process.

Throughout every change, Avenue Systems remained a trusted partner, helping the church adapt its vision while maintaining financial clarity and project momentum. Working closely with Executive Pastor Alex and the leadership team, Avenue provided consistent communication and guidance through evolving budgets, supply chain disruptions, and changing project requirements. The project required flexibility from everyone involved, as plans shifted and new needs emerged throughout the multi-year process.

The newly renovated facility needed to support a unique blend of ministry styles. Sunday mornings often feature a more traditional worship experience, sometimes concluding with a classic doxology, while Tuesday nights host Salt Company, a vibrant college ministry serving students from Florida State University. The result was a flexible environment capable of accommodating both reverent worship and high-energy gatherings complete with immersive lighting, professional haze effects, and dynamic production elements.

Avenue Systems designed and integrated comprehensive audio, video, lighting, and network solutions throughout the campus. Martin Audio systems were deployed across worship, student, children's, and common spaces to provide a consistent audio experience. Volunteer-friendly Allen & Heath Avantis consoles were selected to simplify operation and empower ministry teams. The project also expanded to include a complete Ubiquiti-powered network infrastructure, security cameras, Wi-Fi, and access control systems, creating a unified technology ecosystem that is easy to manage and scale.

One of the most significant outcomes was the seamless balance between advanced technology and usability. Every design decision was made with volunteers in mind, ensuring that powerful systems remained approachable and dependable for the people serving each week. The church also experienced immediate improvements in communication and production workflows, including enhanced intercom clarity and streamlined operational control across the campus.

Today, City Church has a facility designed not only for where they are now, but for where they are headed. The renovated campus provides the flexibility, performance, and reliability needed to support ministry growth for years to come. More importantly, it stands as a testament to what can be accomplished when a bold vision is paired with a trusted technology partner committed to seeing that vision through every challenge, every change, and every milestone along the way.
